What We Believe...
About the BibleThe Bible is God’s Word—infallible, inspired by the Holy Spirit and authoritative. It is a living invitation to a life-changing encounter with the heart and mind of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21)
About the TrinityThere is one God, eternal, manifesting Himself as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:18-20)
About the FatherGod is our Father, loving us with an everlasting, unconditional love. Because of the magnitude of His love for us, He initiated the restoration of our relationship with Him by giving His Son. (Jeremiah 31:3; John 3:16; 1 John 3:1)
About JesusJesus Christ is the one and only Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He came to establish God’s Kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today—in the presence of God the Father and His people. He is fully God and fully man. (Luke 1:35; John 3:16; John 1:14)
About the Holy SpiritThe Holy Spirit is a Person—whom we can know in a personal way. Just like Jesus, He is our Comforter. He is the Spirit of Truth, teaching and leading us into the discovery of all truth. When we are born again, He assures us that we are sons and daughters of God. As we are baptized [continuously saturated with Him], we receive power to know Jesus and make Him known. He distributes supernatural gifts to and through His people, confirming the Word of God with signs and wonders. (John 14:16, 26; Mark 16:20)
About SalvationWe are saved by God’s grace through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God by repenting, believing in and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. (John 3:16; John 11:25; Ephesians 2:8)
About the ChurchThe Church is called the Body of Christ. As His Body, we have a life-giving connection with Him. We are also members of one another, devoted to loving, loyal relationships, encouraging one another to discover our identity and fulfill our destiny. Moved by the biblical vision of how God intended the world to be, we participate with Him in the restoration of all things. (1 Corinthians 12)
About Baptism and CommunionThe Word of God instructs the Church to celebrate two ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ. The first, baptism by immersion, is the outward sign of what God has already done in the individual’s life and is a testimony that the person being baptized is identifying with Christ and now belongs to Him. Baptism is done in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Communion commemorates the death of Jesus and is to be done until He comes again. Participation in communion reminds us that we participate in the life of Jesus Christ. Both ordinances are restricted to those who believe. (Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
About Christ’s ReturnWe believe in the glorious, visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His overcoming Bride, His Church. Those who know Him will be caught up to be with Him eternally in Heaven. Those who have rejected Him will be forever separated from Him in hell. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
